Nomenclatural novelties : Alfredo Vizzini

Hortiboletus Simonini, Vizzini & Gelardi, gen.nov.
    IF551213
It differs from Xerocomellus by the spores smooth in all the species, never striate, never truncate, the common occurrence of small vermilion-red dots in the context at the stipe base, and the average spore quotient (Qm) lower than 2.5. It is common in urban areas (parks, gardens, flowerbeds), on disturbed roadsides or along paths.
    Holotype: Boletus rubellus Krombh. 1836.
The new genus is supported by the molecular analyses in Gelardi et al. 2013 (Sydowia 65: 45-57), Nuhn et al. 2013 (Fungal Biology 117: 479-511), Wu et al. 2014 (Fungal Diversity 69: 93-115), and in Vizzini (unpublished data).
Etymology: From the Latin word Hortus = garden, meaning bolete of the gardens.

Rheubarbariboletus Vizzini, Simonini & Gelardi, gen.nov.
    IF551215
Differs from Xerocomellus by the spores smooth in all the species, never striate, never truncate, elements of the pileipellis smooth or only with finely incrusting pigment, the presence of congophilous plaques on hyphal surface, the tapered and rooting stipe base, the bright yellow-ochraceous to orange-rhubarb and unchangeable context in the stipe base, and the dark blue-green to blackish reaction with iron sulphate on pileus surface and in the stipe base context.
    Holotype: Boletus armeniacus Quél. 1884.
The new genus is supported by the molecular analysis in Gelardi et al. 2013 (Sydowia 65: 45-57) and Vizzini (unpublished data).
Etymology: From the Latin word Rheubarbarum = rhubarb, for the colour of the context at the stipe base.
